There are some guides available on how to install your wifi driver on SliTaz, like the official one. Recently I am having multiple laptops at home. So I had to move permanently to WiFi. Here’s what I did for enabling wireless on SliTaz:
Done!!! Now posting this blog from SliTaz via WiFi 😉
Bonjour,
root@slitaz:/home/tux# lspci grep -i network
Usage: lspci [<switches>]
Basic display modes:
-mm Produce machine-readable output (single -m for an obsolete format) -t Show bus tree
Display options:
-v Be verbose (-vv for very verbose) -k Show kernel drivers handling each device -x Show hex-dump of the standard part of the config space -xxx Show hex-dump of the whole config space (dangerous; root only) -xxxx Show hex-dump of the 4096-byte extended config space (root only) -b Bus-centric view (addresses and IRQ's as seen by the bus) -D Always show domain numbers
Resolving of device ID's to names:
-n Show numeric ID's -nn Show both textual and numeric ID's (names & numbers) -q Query the PCI ID database for unknown ID's via DNS -qq As above, but re-query locally cached entries -Q Query the PCI ID database for all ID's via DNS
Selection of devices:
-s [[[[<domain>]:]<bus>]:][<slot>][.[<func>]] Show only devices in selected slots -d [<vendor>]:[<device>] Show only devices with specified ID's
Other options:
-i <file> Use specified ID database instead of network -p <file> Look up kernel modules in a given file instead of default modules.pcimap -M Enable `bus mapping' mode (dangerous; root only)
PCI access options:
-A <method> Use the specified PCI access method (see `-A help' for a list) -O <par>=<val> Set PCI access parameter (see `-O help' for a list) -G Enable PCI access debugging -H <mode> Use direct hardware access (<mode> = 1 or 2) -F <file> Read PCI configuration dump from a given file root@slitaz:/home/tux# modprobe your_module modprobe: module your_module not found in modules.dep root@slitaz:/home/tux# dmesg tail nyansky <[email protected]> dmfe: Davicom DM9xxx net driver, version 1.36.4 (2002-01-17) winbond-840.c:v1.01-e (2.4 port) Sep-11-2006 Donald Becker <[email protected]> http://www.scyld.com/network/drivers.html ehci_hcd: USB 2.0 'Enhanced' Host Controller (EHCI) Driver ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKH] enabled at IRQ 10 ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: PCI INT D -> Link[LNKH] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10 ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: setting latency timer to 64 ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: EHCI Host Controller ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: debug port 1 ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: cache line size of 32 is not supported ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: irq 10, io mem 0xd0000000 ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00 hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 1-0:1.0: 6 ports detected ohci_hcd: USB 1.1 'Open' Host Controller (OHCI) Driver uhci_hcd: USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] enabled at IRQ 6 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: PCI INT A -> Link[LNKA] -> GSI 6 (level, low) -> IRQ 6 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: setting latency timer to 64 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: UHCI Host Controller uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.0: irq 6, io base 0x00001800 hub 2-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 2-0:1.0: 2 ports detected ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKD] enabled at IRQ 6 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: PCI INT B -> Link[LNKD] -> GSI 6 (level, low) -> IRQ 6 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: setting latency timer to 64 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: UHCI Host Controller uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 3 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: irq 6, io base 0x00001820 hub 3-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 3-0:1.0: 2 ports detected uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.2: PCI INT C -> Link[LNKC] -> GSI 6 (level, low) -> IRQ 6 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.2: setting latency timer to 64 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.2: UHCI Host Controller uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.2: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 4 uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.2: irq 6, io base 0x00001840 hub 4-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 4-0:1.0: 2 ports detected Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... usbcore: registered new interface driver usb-storage USB Mass Storage support registered.
